Plan a Vermont Hike - Mount Pisgah or Mount Hor
Ourdoor recreational enthusiasts can take advantage of unbeatable hiking in Northern Vermont and New Hampshire. Locally, Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor are local favorites and recommended by the hotel's general manager. Both mountains are challenging, but Mount Hor is the easier of the two hikes. Mount Hor offers less traffic and an equal amount of look outs. A family should be able to summit Mt. Hor or Mt. Pisgah comfortably within two hours. Mount Pisgah is one of the finest hiking peaks in northern Vermont and offers a wonderful family adventure. Sandwiched between both mountains is Lake Willoughby. Lake Willoughby is a spring fed lake that is crystal clear and provides one of a kind scenic views. After a day of hiking, plan to swim in the lake for an experience like no other. Brett Loehr, the hotel's general manager, recommends Lake Willoughby at sunset as a "DO NOT MISS EXPERIENCE"...be sure to bring your camera!
From backcountry trekking to day hikes with the family, Vermont and New Hampshire hiking has something to offer every level of hiker. Jay Peak or Burke Mountain are wonderful hiking destinations located in Vermont within an easy drive from the hotel. Cannon Mountain, located in Franconia Notch State Park, offers some of New England's most challenging hiking trails. New Hampshire's most challenging hiking (happens to be New England's highest peak) is Mount Washington. Mount Washington can be very dangerous and should only be considered by experienced hikers.
